On Saturday August 17th I will be competing in the Decathlon in Chicago for the 4th time. I am competing because four years ago my brother was diagnosed with cancer, he passed away November 2nd, 2017. Seeing him persevere through adversity pushes me to challenge myself every single day. The Decathlon is a physical test like no other, one that I probably wouldn't put myself through if it weren't for my brother Desmond. The workouts have been grueling and have challenged me physically as well as mentally. Knowing that I am doing this for him is all that I've needed to keep going, and I love that the money we're able to raise goes to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
