When we look back on life, almost all of us will wonder if there is more that we could have done to make the world a better place. Have we left a better world for the generation that will come after us? Not too long ago, a friend of mine gave me Stuart Scott’s autobiography, titled “Everyday I Fight.” At one point in the book, Scott recounts his battle with cancer. He describes how after every bout of chemotherapy, he would work out as intensely as possible. No matter how ill or how tired he was, he never skipped a workout; he just kept fighting. Scott’s determination has been an inspiration to all those who are battling this deadly disease. Almost every person on the planet has been affected – or knows someone directly affected – by this deadly disease. When I get to the point where I’m reflecting on my life, I want to be able to truthfully say that I used my talents and any platform I had to make a difference. This is why my team and I are competing to help raise money for Children's Cancer Research at Rush University Medical Center. Our hope is to make a meaningful, positive impact on the world –but we need your help. I know you are wondering, “What can I do to support your cause?” There are a number of ways that you can help: by raising awareness, sharing your personal experiences, donating, and fundraising. Any amount of help is most appreciated, and there is no act of kindness that is too small. Thank you for your support.
